If I understand your question correctly, yes. You can enter multiple "stops" along the way and the Garmin will take the best route from your beginning location to point B and from there, the best route to point C etc. Hope that helps!

It can be handheld by a passenger, but using the friction mount for the dashboard would be more convenient for the passenger

also,
other than prompts to turn in 100 feet, does it also tell you which street to turn onto, giving the actual name etc.

Yes it does. Closer than .1 mile it goes into yards and counts down as you get closer.

It can be used in Pedestrian mode. And I am pretty sure it will mark your car location, but I have never tried it.
