You could probably boil 4-6 eggs in a small saucepan (6 inch diameter pan or less) and you would need to cover it and set the burner to the very highest setting...it would take approximately 6-7 minutes to get to boiling...and then of course the amount of time you wanted to give the eggs boiling would be up to you, the burner has no problem maintaining a boiling temperature as long as you don't open the lid of the saucepan...if you like watching your water boil...this may not be the burner for you.

answer 4
No. It requires 120 volts, 800 watts AC. You can get a voltage inverter that converts DC (truck battery) to AC, but you would have to get one that can handle over 1000 watts, and connect it directly to the battery terminals. The drain on the battery would be great, so the engine would have to be running at the time. If you plug it into the lighter socket, you will just blow the fuse.

Yes it can. However, it must be plugged into an inverter (I use a 1500 watt) and it must be wired direct to the vehicle's battery. It draws too much amperage to be plugged into a cigarette lighter.

1000 watts. For some reason- it is not menshoned on the product description. And IMHO- this is the most important detail. On the manifacturer- label under the item it says- 1000 watts. I just repeited this fact, because somebody in the reviews said it is 800 watts. Maybe they made some improvements or so, but mine is 1000 watts. Period.

And somethind elce: the diameter of the hot plate (the heating element) is 6 inches.

From what I was told a lighter adapter for a car will only support 350W max without causing any wires to burn up in your car. The best way to run this burner in your car would be to purchase a 1500W inverter. They sell inverters at auto part stores, Ebay, Walmart, etc...

you can go to the auto department and purchase a power inverter that can power the hot plate. i would recommend against plugging it in to the cig lighter, but rather connecting it directly to the battery so you dont blow the fuses. make sure you compare the wattage use to the wattage output of the inverter and get one large enough.

Thermostat. Light on means heating. When it hits the temp you set, it shuts off, light goes out. When it cools down below set temp, it comes back on. Light on. Without a thermostat, it would stay on until it burns out, or starts a fire.
