Question
Can anyone rate this for "quietness"?
Looking for a fan for my sister who will be bedridden after surgery.
So, if one closes the door, can you still hear the fan running in the next room?
I am finding so many conflicting reviews on quietness with every product, maybe this is the best way to ask.

Any fan worth it's price will make some sound, but the sound from this unit is soft, soothing, and mostly just the circulating air coming off the blades. It is really not noisy at all in an irritating sense. We sleep with our door open and the fan in the adjacent room and there's no problem at all with sound.

I have mine in the living room and when I go to bed my boyfriend leaves it on while he's in the living room and I don't hear it at all. The bedroom is right beside the living room. I need complete silence when I sleep so I would hear it if it's loud.

No, you cannot hear the fan on -outside a closed door, but other standing oscillating fans I got from Walmart (maybe the 16")? were a bit quieter. This fan on high will blow you away!

it is not a quite fan. Look for one that has blades that almost overlap each other.

On low speed, it's pretty quiet. On high speed, you can hear it in the next room.

It's a great product when it comes to power and cost. To be honest though, it really isn't that quiet. I use it when I sleep and it doesn't bother me, but I'm a pretty sound sleeper. Some people might be bothered by the noise.

I use this fan in my garage which is next to my living room. I can not hear the fan running unless I open the garage door. Don't know if this helps I know the walls would be a little different from garage to room vs room to room.

I own this product and my wife needs the air to circulate at night to sleep. I need quiet myself and i am able to sleep soundly with the fan on low all night!
