The unit I purchased has one travel lid. The sipping lid has a slide tab closure that prevents splashing during the blender process.

I just used this little blender for the 1st time today for making one of my protein shakes. We buy the small, 7 lb. bags of ice from 'Walmart'. The ice cubes in these are fairly small and rounded. I used one scoop of protein powder, 1/2 cup of milk, and probably about 8 of these small ice cubes. Using the 'pulse' button, off and on about 10x's, I found when drinking my shake, that the shake was completely smooth, like a smoothie, except for 2 little ice pieces.

You can blend ice but there will be some large pieces. It's better to just use frozen fruit when making smoothies and no ice, or just one or two pieces of ice.

I don't own one of these, but when I was making baby food year ago, I used one of those small food choppers that you can buy for about $10. Using one of those, you can grind up food for your baby very well, and it can be hot food.

It says not to use hot foods. I cooled the food with an ice cube first (about 30 seconds), added it to the blender, and then blended. It was great. It will do softer meats (well-cooked chicken) but not grainy beef or steak.

Wow, that's exactly what we bought this for yesterday. I had 'weight loss surgery' over 3 yrs. ago, drinking lots of protein shakes to lose most of my weight. I sure wish I would have had a blender like this. I'm going back on the 'health kick' again and drinking one or two of the shakes or smoothies daily. When making a protein shake, i put a scoop of the protein powder in, 1/2 c. milk, and add about 8 smallish ice cubes to it. This little blender completely made the ice nice and smooth, like in 'franchise style smoothies', only needing to pulsate it about 10x's. It did leave 2 tiny little ice chips in it though but is so far superior than any other blender I've used for any purpose, including my protein shakes made after my 'weight loss surgery,' in our huge, clumsy, hard to clean up after, old blender.

It does not come with a battery power source. You would need to get a car power inverter to operate the blender in a vehicle.

The travel mug is marked to hold up to 14 oz but if you fill it up close to the brim without spilling over you can get more like 16 -18 oz depending on what you are blending

I called the HB customer line and was told that Hamilton Beach Stay or Go Blender Travel Cup would fit my HB single serve blender. I have not confirmed this because I have no need for a second container at this time. Hope that helps.

Question
Burning smell?
I bought mine after reading such good reviews, but it has a burning smell. The first time I tried it, I thought I overloaded it. This time I added more water and still there was that burning smell. If you're having any luck with yours, tell me what's the key because I think it's too late to return it to Walmart now. :/
