yes it can. I have used my machine on my tile floor on a weekly basis and it may be loud but it gets the job done and my knees do not take the majority of the effort!

yes and no, I used my hose and small brush on my tile in the bathroom and it did great, but if your tile grout is cracking or chipped I wouldn't recommend cause it will break it up even more.
