No heart rate monitor. It shows miles per hour, time, estimated calorie usage, and distance . Very simple device. I also wanted a heart rate monitor, but the prices for those jumped up a bit, and I could use my blood pressure monitor for that anyway.

When you start pedaling, all of the funtions engage automatically. Four minutes after you stop pedalling the console switchs itself off. The MODES are available on the console, simply select which one you want. We use the SCAN mode all the time.

It does it for you automatically. Once you are finished with your workout you simply hold the button down for a couple of seconds for it to reset back to zero. It will also turn it's self off after about a minute when you are finished with your workout.

I estimate 2 hours 5 days a week (watch TV and move at your own pace). Move your upper body and lower body and of course, decrease your calorie count under dietitian or doctor supervision. Stay healthy!!

Everyone's weight loss varies. If you are incorporating healthy eating/diet plan with exercise, you can lose faster. If relying ONLY on exercise it will take longer. There's really no "set" answer to this question as each person is so different in the way we metabolize foods and burn calories. Much of it depends on your age/weight/gender, etc. as well.

Honestly, I think you are both too tall for this bike to actually ride it comfortably, and also maybe too heavy. I think the maximum weight suggested for use is 250 lbs. It's not a cheapie/flimsy bike, but is definitely not the strongest either like those you would find at an actual commercial gym.

The owners manual says 250 lbs. I have had it about 30 days, working out five days a week on it for 20 minutes each day, and since I am a diabetic I eat no more than 150 carbs a day, but other than that no other diet restrictions, and I have lost 28.5 lbs.

This is an awesome bike. I lost about 8lbs in 1 1/2 months & I was still eating pretty much what I wanted. You will probably lose more weight quicker since you weigh more. The seat will adjust so even at your height you should be fine. The seat starts to hurt my butt after about 30 mins, so you may want to break it up in to 15 mins, or get a seat cushion. Good luck!

This bike is NOT for a serious weight-loss program, and I can't say how much I've lost since I've used it only for a couple of weeks. I have improved my posture and lost some inches in my waist and hips. The bike is not stable enough for someone who weighs nearly 300 lbs. Get a better priced bike than this.

Some, but it is not horrendous or even very loud. The faster you pedal the more noise it makes, as you would expect for an air reseistance mechanism.

We use it while watching TV and the volume is cranked up a bit, but not to Rock Concert levels....

The weight limit says 250lbs. I can tell you though when I first started using the bike, I didn't look at that. I was 295 pounds starting out. I lost 110 pounds so by time I saw the weight limit, I'd already dropped below it. I can tell you though... ALL exercise bikes I have looked at in the store and online that are under $500 have this same weight limit.

Yes, you can pedal and pump with the arms. You can also disconnect the arm motion ( a simple linch pin connection )and use the pedal only. It is not nearly as " sturdy" as Schwinn, but for the $$ is same concept. You will not be able to "abuse" and play on this unit.
