Questions & Answers for Spa Sensations Spa Sensations 12" Theratouch Memory Foam Mattress, Full

Question

Returning once the mattress has been opened

I checked with Walmart via email regarding the procedure to return the mattress once it has been opened. They replied saying "
For items to be returned that can not be placed in original shipping package, customer must attain new packaging for shipping."
This means I am responsible for packing it up in case I want to return it.

Has anybody recently returned the mattress after it was opened. If yes can you please explain the procedure, if there were any charges and any other info that might be helpful.

THanks

generally to return these foam mattresses, you make a hole in the mattress and it deflates. why not check with the manufactorer before returning on how to do this, since there is no question regarding such returns at wal-mart.

I just got back home from returning my Spa Sensations Memory Foam mattress to my local Walmart Store. The in-store return process was completely painless. If you are thinking of returning the mattress, make sure you keep the box that it was shipped in because the return desk clerk needed to scan the bar code that was on the outside of the box.
The mattress is very hard to fold up but we managed to fold it into thirds and tied it up with rope. We were able to get industrial sized trash bags to fit over each end and then we wrapped plastic around the middle. There were no questions asked about why we were returning the mattress and it was no problem about not having the mattress in it's original shipping box. Overall a very pleasant return experience.

I just returned my Spa Sensations mattress to my local WalMart yesterday with zero problems or questions about any packing material. It says right on my invoice that I can return the mattress for a refund. This person who responded to your email is telling you alot of bunk!

I returned a similar mattress to the store with the box. I wrapped the mattress in plastic and taped it shut to protect it. I explained that it would not fit back in the box and they were very understanding. There was no shipping charge to return it to the store

You mean the box it comes in? If so, it's 21" x 22" x 43".

I bought the twin size and it came rolled up inside a box that was at least 1/3 the size of the actual mattress. That may give you an idea of how the queen would be. However I do not know the actual dimensions

I have a memory foam mattress (not from Walmart, but still inexpensive) on an adjustable bed and it's been fabulous. It's only 8'' and maybe that would make it more flexible than a 12". We will purchase either the 8" or 12" from Walmart for a different adjustable bed.

by adjustable, if you mean like a bed that bends sort of like a hospital bed, it would be comfortable but i dont think it would bend like you would want it and it stay comfortable.

No. You should get a mattress that is specifically target for an adjustable bed - this is a standard bed mattress. Although, it is highly recommended; I think it's a great mattress, but it wouldn't suit what you're looking for.

Question

If you needed to get the King size, would it be bendable to take up a smaller space?

We just bought a house and our queen pillow-top mattress won't fit up our stairs because of the height of the ceiling. We need to be able to manipulate the mattress to fit up the staircase (also king's box springs are 2 twin sizes.. much easier to transport up the stairs). Anything would be helpful. Thanks

The king size comes packaged in a box that is about 2.5' x 2.5' x 4'. It weighs about 120 pounds. I rolled it up my stairs end over end on my own. It isn't vacuum packed. It is compressed, wrapped in plastic, and then put in a bag to hold its shape. Mine split the bag during shipping, so it started to expand as soon as I took it out of the cardboard box. Unfortunately, I had the bright idea of unpacking it the night before I planned on setting it up... one less step in the morning because we were setting it up before work to let it air out all day. Within in an hour it was expanded to the point that it was going to unfold itself, so we laid it out flat in our guest bedroom overnight. While moving it to our bedroom, it didn't seem to be any more flexible than my old spring mattress. So, make sure you have it where you want it before even taking it out of the box. Though, I doubt folding it in half would damage it like it would a spring mattress... learned that lesson the hard way as well.

yes, it will come in a large box about 3.5 feet by 3.5 feet and about 4.5 feet long. you can carry the box to your location and unpack it and let it expand.

This mattress is shipped vacuum packed. It will fill with air and become the finished size when you open the packaging. It will be heavy but should fit up any stairway.

this bed weighs 102-103 lbs. My husband weighs 220. Most of his is muscle but still 220 is a lot and I weigh about 160 myself so thats a good bit of weight for the bed. It's a bed that fits to you but it doesn't sink in like you would think so i believe a really heavy person could lay on it just fine.

You better wait on getting this bed as I just received a queen that compresses down to a depth of 2 inches. The product description is completely incorrect as it describes a 4 inch mattress topper. I bought a king of the exact same bed a year ago and it only compresses down to 9 inch depth and would support heavy people and we think it is fabulous. But the new one is being returned because it offers absolutely no support.

Probably, but you might have to take it out of the box...here is a picture of my daughter (5 yrs old - and average sized for her age) on the mattress as it was rolled up for shipping before we opened it.
We chose a memory foam mattress partly because we knew it would fit up our very narrow and low-clearance staircase!

I weigh 170 and the mattress is very firm for me, I think 240 would be no problem. Hot is a matter of each person to some degree but I bought the plushest pillow-top mattress cover I could find (Kohl's) and do not get hot.

My wife & I transitioned from a water bed, so we were used to not waking up even with lots of movement. But with this mattress (cal-king) I can flop onto my side and she can't tell (make sure the bed platform is solid.) She pokes me with her foot at nite to make sure I'm there.

the mattress itself transfers only very little to none movement. Maybe 1%? If the bed or the base is moving, you'll feel that, but the mattress is not 'bouncy'. not like an innerspring at all.

We honestly have not felt any transfer. I wake up several times a night due to a medical condition and my husband never even knows I'm gone. He wakes up at 4:30 for work and I am not a morning person at all and if it wasn't for him kissing me goodbye I would never know he was gone. I have even ran and jumped on it being silly and I didn't move just plopped into place but comfortablely.

No, this mattress doesn't require a box spring. you can use a regular box spring though. you can also put it on slats, any flat base, or even just on the floor. Walmart has also a metal bedframe that works very well.
