You can. We did. However we found the cover was not "breathable" enough and made my husband and I sweat a lot at night. We took it off and have been sleeping much better.

This bed is very warm.

Question

hi.. i have 2 questions?

1. can this 12" Spa Sensations Theratouch Memory foam mattress, queen size, that i plan to purchase from Walmart, get bed bugs?
2. i have a smart base frame that i purchased for a 7" foam mattress, with about 4" between steel slats, and it seems to work fine for the 7" memory foam mattress that i currently have, except i am a side sleeper, and have tried to move to middle, and seemed to feel some type of lump, but would like the 12" one, and want to know if this base can be used without any plywood between? and if a plywood board is necessary, what size do i need for this 12" mattress?
thanking you and waiting for a response before purchasing.

all types of matresses, clothes, carpet, cutains etc can get bedbugs.

i have the 12 king with a steel slumber 1 frame from walmart but i bought thin either 1/8 inch or 1/4 inch wood paneling (like the walls in a mobile home)not plywood to lay on top of frame and it was cheaper and works great

Hi, I think any bed can get bedbugs, but there are no "seams" for them to live in they need darkness and they say to look in seams, so maybe this helps you.

About the plywood, the 12 inch is what I have and it is substantial in size so I would recommend a solid platform base for your mattress, I think that may be your problem with the 7 in. I would buy plywood to fit the whole mattress size which is stated in the details of the mattress description. Hope this helps

I have tried a shredded memory foam pillow. I like it because it keeps its shape and stays cool. The solid foam pillow was to rigid. brand name withheld out of respect to Wal-mart (they don't carry this expensive brand.)

Question

Velour Cover maintenance??

So, I'm looking at this mattress and another one, a 13in., from this brand and I noticed the 13in. mattress has a 'spot clean only' cover. I was wondering if the velour cover for this mattress is machine washable??

Hi luvwallyworld. Yes, the velour cover is machine washable and dry-able. Gentle cycle only and fluff dry or cool dry only.

Yes! It zips off easily, and can be machine washed in cold water. I wash it about once a month and it's easy to get off and back on.

Question

Seems less responsive after added sheets, what should I do?

I got the mattress on thursday opened it and let expand forty eight hours. Before I put sheets on it I layed on it and it was so soft, didnt hurt my hip at all when I laid on my side. After I put the sheets on it became firmer and less responsive and puts pressure on my hip. Should I get a topper? I don't really want to sleep with out sheets. Will it soften up over time? My sheets are just cheap 220 thread count sheets.

Walmart sells an excellent pillow top mattress pad. Very soft and will eliminate the pressure. There are cheaper mattress pads, but they are basically just a protective covering for your mattress.

I don't believe the sheets make a difference. But just make sure that they allow the mattress to breath. It might be harder for it to expand if it is hard for the mattress to absorb air when it needs it. The mattress is not meant to be soft, it is meant to be firm, but easy on your body at the same time. Give it a couple of weeks for your body to adjust. If that dies not work, the. Maybe your mattress is defective. Good luck :-)

"T-shirt" sheets, also available at Wal-mart, stretch with the memory foam much better than regular sheets.

I bought the twin size and it came rolled up inside a box that was at least 1/3 the size of the actual mattress. That may give you an idea of how the queen would be. However I do not know the actual dimensions

this bed weighs 102-103 lbs. My husband weighs 220. Most of his is muscle but still 220 is a lot and I weigh about 160 myself so thats a good bit of weight for the bed. It's a bed that fits to you but it doesn't sink in like you would think so i believe a really heavy person could lay on it just fine.

answer 3
You better wait on getting this bed as I just received a queen that compresses down to a depth of 2 inches. The product description is completely incorrect as it describes a 4 inch mattress topper. I bought a king of the exact same bed a year ago and it only compresses down to 9 inch depth and would support heavy people and we think it is fabulous. But the new one is being returned because it offers absolutely no support.

I weigh 170 and the mattress is very firm for me, I think 240 would be no problem. Hot is a matter of each person to some degree but I bought the plushest pillow-top mattress cover I could find (Kohl's) and do not get hot.

Probably, but you might have to take it out of the box...here is a picture of my daughter (5 yrs old - and average sized for her age) on the mattress as it was rolled up for shipping before we opened it.
We chose a memory foam mattress partly because we knew it would fit up our very narrow and low-clearance staircase!
