4D Batteries but I suggest purchasing at Radio Shack (2010 catalog #'s):

Enercell AC-to-DC Power Adapter (6v, 800mA) - 273-354

Enercell 2.1mm I.D. M Adapter - 273-0344

These two will save you money in the long run.

There's an actual cord which retails for $90+. Some people recommend a universal adapter but I wouldn't risk it. However, that said I wouldn't pay $90+ for a cord either! Check out tiny.cc/ggpower or eBay and you can get it for half that!

You will see in the manual that they recommend you calling them to get the correct part/adapter, otherwise you might ruin your monitor! You don't have to buy an adapter if you don't want to, because monitor is battery operated.

The main reason I purchased a GG PowerSpin was due to the silent nature of a stationary bike over a treadmill. This bike has no motor and the only noise is a slight wooshing as you pedal. To be honest I think the built-in fan on hi is louder than the bike itself.

I have it in the basement right outside of my daughter's bedrooms. They don't hear it. Matter of fact, my boyfriend was on it today and the only thing I heard from it was the beeping of the digital stuff. Never heard the bike itself. VERY quiet!

I too have had bad luck with those universal adapters. I grabbed an actual power cord (at half the price thanks to tiny.cc/ggpower ) and it's working great now.

Buy the 1300ma/6-volt Universal AC adapter called "Powerline" at walmart for like 19$ and set it to positive. Using any less than 1300ma could fry your bike or cause a fire.

I've had bad experiences with those 'universal adapters'. I just purchased the actual cord which I found at half the price on tiny.cc/ggpower - plugged in and works great! You can also check eBay for them.

You can't get the adapters at Walmart. You need to go to Radio Shack. The 2 adapters you need are:

Enercell™ Adaptaplug™ M
Catalog #: 273-344 $6.99

Enercell™ 6V/800mA AC Adapter
Catalog #: 273-354 $22.99

This is also a question that I have . I am about to purchase a bike and I read from one of the reviews that the Enercell AC-DC Power adapter (6Volts-800ma): 273-354 or the enercell M adapter 2.1 mm ( 273-0344) can be used.
