I purchased a PowerLine 0900-77A Universal Adapter from Amazon for $12.89 and it works great with the PowerSpin 210. The voltage setting is 6v and the polarity setting is tip positive.

You can go to the electronics section of walmart and purchase a universal AC adapter for less the $20. There is an adapter included that fits perfectly. The brand name is PowerLine. It's also available on amazon.com. The polarity will need to be set to positive. The instructions included will show you how to set it. There's a battery conversion chart that tells you where to set the voltage for how many batteries your device takes. For this bike you would set it to 6.

Question
What it the polarity of the plug
I would like it if someone would give the polarity of the plug into the machine. Polarity it the way in which positive or negative goes to the machine. Would someone please look at their power cord and tell me it it is like this-(+) with the positive in the center of the circle or like this +(-) with the negative in the circle. This info will be on the power supply that must be purchased seperatly. Thanks

If you have a newer home & your wall recepticle has 2 slots & a round hole, you have a polarized wall recepticle. (assuming it was installed by a qualified electrician). Your 3 prong plug is polarized & compatible to your recepticle. Now... if you are curious, look closely, the left hand slot in your wall recepticle is slightly larger than the right one - it is your negative - side, and is called "common". The smaller slot is the positive + side, (or "hot" side). The round hole is your "ground". If you do not use a "3 prong adaptor", which can change polarity, you should have no problems.

Question
Are batteries necessary to use the bike or just the LCD screen?
I understand that this bike requires D size batteries, but do those batteries do anything for the bike itself or is it just the LCD? In other words, could you still ride the bike without batteries?

Also, how many batteries are required? And they are D size, correct?

Yes, you either need batteries or A/C adapter to power the bike... If you call the number on the front of the manual, you can purchase the A/C adapter for $24... way better than using batteries... plus, the batteries run down fast if you use the LCD, fan, and MP3.

4 D batteries are needed to use the LCD display unit, which allows you to pick the various exercise routines, set the tension levels, monitor your progress, etc. Else, you can purchase separately an ~$70 power adapter (was not included in the box). W/o some type of power to the display unit, you will just be spinning your wheels.
