Questions & Answers for Safety 1st Safety 1st - Tubside Bath Seat

Question

Great product, but just wondering...

I just recieved this from my brother and his wife. Their baby out grew it, my son is 5 months now. I really love the seat, other then the minor problem with him sliding down in it. I was just wondering, is there a reason why the blue seat part is spring loaded. Is it suppose to do something.

I was wondering why it was spring loaded too?! I thought maybe because babies get excited in the bath and bounce around, so it's more comfortable for that?!

I don't have a clawfoot tub, but I have a strange shaped tub. It sat a little above the tub bottom, but once my daughter was in it, it sunk down to the bottom and was secure.

I have an almost 9 month old, and we have been using this product for the last few months. It has been a great purchase. As long as the baby can somewhat sit up with assistance, you will be okay. As far as weight limit? I'm not too sure that matters to be honest. The seat pretty much ends up touching the bottom of the tub. As of right now, my son is 24 lbs.

Hope that helps!

I tried to hook it on the right side of my tub because I didn't want my son near the faucet, but couldn't get the seat to turn around the other way so I could only put it on the left side of the tub.

This product is suitable for children able to sit up unassisted (approximately 5 months of age).

Product is not suitable for children able to pull up to a standing position who may attemp to climb out (approximately 10 months of age).

No. There's an arm that fits over the edge of the tub and it has suction cups on the bottom of it. This product should only be used with standard bathtubs. I don't know of any other bath seats but you could try those blow up tubs that fit in a standard tub. My daughter used one for a long time.

I'm not sure of the official answer, but I have used this seat with both of my children who are now ages 4 and 19 months. I used the seat from the time they were able to sit up with only a little assistance (just in time to be too squirmy for the little infant bath tub) until they were sure-footed enough to stand on their own in the tub and walk around the house without holding onto things. Those developmental milestones happen at different times for different babies. I will say that I LOVE this seat. I came on here to see if Walmart carried it as my 7 month old nephew could really use one.

Question

Has anyone used this for bathing small dogs or other small animals?

My chihuahua is 11 pounds -- a little bigger than many chihuahuas, but still small.

I'm not sure if it would be easier or not -- I currently bathe her in the kitchen sink, but the faucet is not high enough to make it ideal.

Thought maybe I could sit in a chair next to the tub with her in the bath seat.

No, you pretty much have to sit at the side of the tub on the floor or a stool. I really don't think a dog would sit in it.

This Tubside Seat does not come apart.

Rinse the bath seat thoroughly with fresh, clean water. Allow excess water to drain and towel dry.
