answer 1
Yes. This carseat can be installed with the lapbelt only
IF the child is at least 1yr old, between 20-65lbs and between 27"-52".
If the child is smaller, you need a rear-facing seat.
If the child is larger, you need a booster, and a booster requires the shoulder belt.

answer 2
YES and NO
YES -- you MAY use a lap-only belt if the you are using the seat in HARNESSED MODE
NO -- you may NOT use a lap-only belt for either booster mode (high-back or backless), you must have a lap-shoulder combo to use a non-harnessing booster seat

It is because they are discontinueing the Bravo color pattern. So you are getting the same high quality seat for a discount because Graco has decided to discontinue the pattern.

Originally everybody sold both seats were $180 in the store and online. Then for some reason Walmart started selling the gray seat for $138 and kept the other at $180. Maybe Walmart.com bought too many of the gray seats and they are trying to cut down on inventory. However, no matter what color car you have the gray one will match up. This can't be said for the Pink-orange one. Buy the gray one. You won't be disappointed and you'll save some cash.

Sometimes its the difference in fabric. The one I purchased for almost 180 from babies r us has sofet fabric that is exclusive to babies r us. The one I purchased from Walmart for 129, has different, less plush fabric, but just as great of a seat. Wal- Mart sells the exact same seat in the store as it does online, but in the store it is much more expensive.

answer 1
NO. A newborn needs an infant carseat or a convertible seat that can rearface and forward face. This seat can only forward face. You want to keep your child in a rearfacing carseat as long as possible as it is the safest. Some convertible carseats have rearfacing limits of up to 40 lbs. You should keep the child rearfacing up to the limit of the carseat (also check to make sure it is not outgrown by height...tops of ears should be below the shell of the carseat. This seat is for a child who is AT ABSOLUTE MINIMUM 20 lbs and 1 year, but much better suited for kids over 2 or over 40 lbs since it is best to keep them rearfacing during that time period.

No, this is a forward facing ONLY car seat. It is for convertible 5 point harness, high back belt positioning booster, and backless booster only. Up to 100 pounds. I would not recommend this for a child under 3 years old.

No, it is a front facing seat only. In the description, it says age 1-10. It doesn't recline enough to keep baby's head back. This is a toddler and booster seat in one.

answer 6
No, this carseat is not front facing. It's a 3-in-1 for the 5 point harness, seat without the harness (but with a seat belt), and a backless booster seat. The seat with the harness goes up to 40 lbs., the seat without the harness goes up to 60 lbs., and the booster seat goes up to 100 lbs.

I love this car seat. We bought one for our daughter. It's very comfortable for her to sit in, even on long trips. The covers come off easily and are machine washable (on the delicate cycle). The straps come on and off very easily. In fact, I just washed them today, and sprayed Clorox bleach on it and power washed them while the covers were being washed. It's not too heavy, but is very safe. We loved this car seat so much that we bought one for our second daughter. It also reclines slightly, making it even more comfortable.

I highly recommend this car seat. You won't have to buy another car seat (once you get past the front facing stage), of course.

It's currently recommended to keep your child rear facing as long as possible - especially up to one year - due to severe neck injuries in a child sitting forward facing. This car seat does NOT seat rear-facing (I thought it did and bought it - then I had to return it)

He has to be a minimum of 1 year and a minimum of 20 pounds to be able to sit in a forward facing booster seat. If he already meets the weight requirement but not the age, he will still need to be rear facing until he turns one.

answer 5
Please remember that just because a child weighs enough to forward face does NOT mean that they should. Studies show that the neck of a child under 1 year old is not developed enough to properly support the child in the event of a crash. If you were to wreck and the child is forward facing, it is a MUCH greater risk for having the child's neck broken because of this. DON'T risk it!

We recently hit a deer and our rental was a Chevy Cobalt. Both of our Nautilus seats fit in the car. That being said there wasn't much leg room and very little room between the seats. A Cobalt is much smaller than a Malibu, so I would assume that you would have no problem fitting the seat in.

I have these seats for my 4 & small 7 year olds, and they can both wear their winter coats and still have the harness fit. My 7 year old can't wear her snow pants and coat, by my 4 year old can (since she is smaller#. The straps are very and easily adjustable! If you want to check for yourself, take your son to the store with whatever gear #coat, snow pants, etc) and have someone pull down the model seat and put him in it :)
