What is the width of the bench seat?

Is width consistent when flat? I will be using for other exercises laying flat with dumbells. Will it support shoulders?

It does narrow at the shoulders but I think it's set that way to get full range of chest exercise but its sufficient.

I wouldn't put to much weight onto this bench. It's sturdy but I don't believe it was made for max pounds. I would get something a little more heavy in the frame.
