It is good light, it is NOT 300w of light, more like 75w-100w of light. They are well priced though. If you need work light, buy 2 or 3 of them. (No, I do NOT work for Wal-Mart, LOL.) I was just playing with mine, I could read a DVD back cover just fine.

No, they are incandescent bulbs. You should be able to dim them as long as the dimmer is rated for the wattage required for the rope lights although it doesn't state here the wattage rating.

No, they do not. I installed mine today. Each set of lights is 39 feet in length with an additional 4 (+/-) feet of card to plug into the outlet.

Question
Power
I plan on taking my canopy tent camping with me. I assume these lights use electricity. Is there a way to power them without a RV or electric supplied camp site?

They are running on 110v power. If you have some kind of battery system or generator or power inverter (converts a car cigarette lighter into 110v about $30) you will be fine. If you are in the middle of no where without electricity you will have no lights.

I don't see why not as i have them under the railing of my deck and they are just fine. They are covered in a heavy duty plastic, so as long as you keep them away from flame i don't see a problem whatsoever.
