Yes it is multidirectional as all traditional antenna designs are. Digital signals are more focused than analog, and depending on your location you may need a rotor. I am picking up stations more than 30 miles away off the back of the antenna without having to rotate it. On occasion, depending on weather, a rotor would help, but it is not essential. I had to spend some time adjusting the antenna to find the best direction to pick up all the channels in my area without having to use a rotor. Try it without the rotor, and then you can always add a rotor later if you need to.

Lowes, Home Depot, or Radio Shack has the cable. It is just standard RG6 cable, nothing special.

Antennas have nothing to do with convertor boxes. Whether or not you need a convertor box depends on your television, not your antenna. If you have a digital tuner (newer tv's only) then you do not need a convertor box. If you have an older tv without a digital tuner, then you need a convertor box. The antenna works either way. It will either be hooked up to your convertor box or directly to your tv. There is no antenna you can purchase that will eliminate the need for a convertor box if you do not have a digital tuner.

This is a full spectrum antenna. I am receiving channels from 4.1 to 62.2 (which is what is offered in my area). This antenna works well for both UHF and VHF.

There are no mounting brackets, just a 4-foot long piece of galvanized pipe. I mounted it onto my existing mast, but if you do not have an antenna presently, you will need a pipe to the ground with a bracket to the gable (available at any hardware store) or a roof mount tripod.
