No, you do NOT need earlier versions of the sims to play sims 3. Also, if your laptop supports all the specifications (On the back of the sims 3 box) then you can play it. I just installed it on my computer yesterday and Im not sure if your laptop will be able to allot for that much memory. It takes exactly 5,600 MB of space on your computer. Also make sure you have atleast a gig of extra space for saving houses and families. Also you need to have a video card that supports these kinds of graphics. It must have128MB or higher and 2.0 pixelation. It is compatible with Windows Vista.

No..I purchased that game and they don't speak much english..still Simlish..but they do speak a little english. Seems Will Wright has given the sims a little english, but just a few common words...still in simlish but you can still make out some english words

The Sims 2 is awesome, but the Sims 3 has better graphics and you get to choose 5 character traits for your sim which makes each and everyone of your sims unique.

Sims 1 was great, Sims 2 came out and now never play sims 1, I expect the same to happen this time.

In this game you can see the whole neighborhood while you're playing on a person/sim. You can modify how the person looks in so many different ways. You can choose the sims's really personality, like excited, hot headed, cheerful etc. It also looks like the sims are real. You can have your sim's houses actually be on the beach. I can't answer for every situation, but my wife has windows 7 on her computer and she plays the Sims 3 almost every day. I don't know why it wouldn't run on this one.

Yes, the Sims can give birth in the hospital. A dialog will pop up asking if you'd like your Sim to deliver in the hospital.

However, most places that your Sims can go, it is fun, but more than half the time, you cannot go into the community lots with your Sim. Unfortunately, the hospital is no exception. Though, you'll be able to hear sounds, music, etc. outside of the community buildings that you cannot follow your Sim into. Sometimes in a community lot, a pop up screen will appear, asking what you'd like for your Sim to do at work and when exploring the Catacombs, just to name those off the top of my head.

I believe so..Remember when the Sims 2 came out..Well its gonna be a great possibility that it will come out for other consoles. And to say it, now that the 360, Wii, and PS3 are out and the graphics are way more advanced then ever. Of course they should release it. It would look amazing on either console. The same thing happened to me. Except the error message appeared at the beginning of installation. I could play, I designed my family and entered a lot, but once I tried to build and construct my house, it froze up. My computer then went to the home screen and everything looked like a negative color setting on a camera. The monitor display was big and pixely. I pulled the power and restarted, thinking it was a glitch. But the second time I played, it happened again. I looked into it and the video card in my computer is unsupported. My computer has intel pentium 4 and is a hp pavillion and the video or graphics card intsalled is out of date. I hate to break this to you, but you are going to have to buy a new video card. (Like fifty dollars for the game wasn't enough, huh?!) Buy a card with 128MB and 2.0 pixel strenght or higher. Also, it must be compatable with DirectX 9.0 or a later model. Try the product "Diamond Stealth S120 ATI Radeon 9550 256MB AGP Graphics Card" or the "XFX GeForce 9500 GT 512MB PCI-e Video Card" they range in price from 65-95 dollars, and I think you can buy them on walmart online (they are cheapest there)... they are not sold in walmart stores though. You know, Im a Sims fanatic, ive owned Sims 1, Sims 2, basically all the expansion packs, and now I buy the Sims 3 on the second day it is available in stores... and Im starting to wonder. First, update your video card drivers. You can do this by visiting the website of the manufacturer of the video card. If the update does not work, make sure you check the model of your video card and compare it to the System Requirements. Keep in mind things like directX and such.
