This is not Goretex. WhiteWater Outdoors uses what they have trademarked as RainBlocker. If you go to the website whitewateroutdoors.com you will not find anything about the actual material. It does define it as breathable and waterproof,but there are hundreds of different registered technologies that claim this. Waterproof fabrics are usually natural or synthetic fabrics that are laminated to or coated in some sort of permanently waterproofing material, such as rubber, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyurethane (PU), silicone elastomer, and wax. Gore-Tex proucts are much more expensive and any item with this technology would advertise the fact due to the amazing ability of Gore-Tex. I have been considering purchasing this product but have hesitations because this product can not be found in my local Walmart for sizing and inspection!
